June Contest Apple Reporter Logo Design

I am creating a new masthead for Apple Reporter. That little “talking bubble” is getting so passé now that Apple Reporter is gathering momentum (and readers) don’t you think? There are some guidelines to follow, of course, and a deadline, and of course, prizes! So what’s the scoop?
What I Am Looking For:
A logo to become part of the Apple Reporter masthead I am designing.
The Specs:
The masthead will be 728 pixels by 90 pixels, so the logo must fit inside those parameters.
Logo must look good online and on paper, as it will also become part of the Apple Reporter site’s paper stationary.
The Want List:
Modern look and feel in keeping with the Apple traditional sleek, modern look.
Must use the Apple in some way.
No pink!
Contest Specifications:
Submit your logos to me by July 2nd, 2007 at Midnight Eastern Time USA via email or in the comments for this post. I will review the logos myself and either choose a winner or not. I will post the results on July 4th, 2007. To submit via email, send logo in jog, eps, gif or png format to leslie dot poston at 451press dot net (remove spaces, dots and at to email). To submit via comment post a link to your hosted file and your contact info in the comments of this post only. Winner will be contacted via email and posted in the blog.
The Prize:
I may or may not receive a logo deemed suitable for Apple Reporter. There will be a winner regardless. If I do not choose a logo to use, then the logo I deem the best of all received will get a pair of travel speakers for their iPod, with batteries. The speakers are i3 Hi-Fi 4 Watt Collapsable Speakers in White.
If I do choose a logo and I use it on the site, the winner will get not only the speakers, but also a $25 gift certificate to iTunes or Amazon - their choice.
